All about the Honduras-EU Voluntary Partnership Agreement
Honduras was the first country in the Americas to enter into VPA negotiations with the EU. In June 2018, Honduras and the EU marked the end of VPA negotiations by initialling the document, ahead of signing and ratifying it. The VPA was signed by the EU and Honduras in February 2021. The agreement entered into force in September 2022, after each party ratified it in line with their internal procedures.

On 12 September 2022, the first meeting of the Joint Implementation Committee (CCA by its Spanish acronym) was held in Tegucigalpa, Honduras to start overseeing the implementation of the Voluntary Partnership Agreement on Forest Law Enforcement, Governance, and Trade (FLEGT).
